Glaucoma care
Glaucoma remains one of the commonest causes of blindness. The best way to avoid loss of sight from glaucoma is to visit an optician regularly after the age of 40 (when the condition becomes more common).
If your optician suspects that you may have glaucoma, they will refer you to an eye doctor to have the diagnosis confirmed and treatment started. Treatment is aimed at reducing eye pressure. Treatment options include eye drops, laser treatment and surgery. Mr Diamond will know which type of treatment is best suited to your own circumstances. Mr Diamond has access to the latest SLT laser therapy and is one of the most experienced surgeons in the South West for glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy and tube insertion).
