Glaucoma care
Glaucoma remains one of the commonest causes of blindness. The best way to avoid loss of sight from glaucoma is to visit an optometrist regularly after the age of 40 (when the condition becomes more common).
If your optometrist suspects that you may have glaucoma, they will usually refer you to an eye doctor to have the diagnosis confirmed and treatment started. Treatment is aimed at reducing eye pressure. Treatment options include eye drops, laser treatment and surgery. Dr Jeremy Diamond will know which type of treatment is best suited to your own circumstances. Dr Jeremy Diamond has access to SLT laser therapy and is a very experienced glaucoma surgeon (micro-stents, trabeculectomy and tube insertion).
